01. MILLING

Brewing beer involves milling malted barley, crushing it, mixing it with filtered water, and adjusting the water’s minerals to support the yeast.

02. MASHING

Mashing occurs in a brewing vessel, consisting of two vessels. The left vessel mixes barley grist with water, converting starch into fermentable sugars.

03. LAUTERING

Lautering involves brewing grain particles from fermentable sugars, which are then fed to cattle, and liquified sugars, called wort, are returned to the left vessel.

04. BOILING

After separating the wort, the liquid is boiled, and hops are added for aroma and flavor enhancing the beer’s bitterness.

05. COOLING

After wort production, it cools to allow yeast to work. The wort is then pumped to fermenters, with yeast added from a keg, using lager and ale yeasts chosen by brew masters.

06. FERMENTATION

Fermentation is a hands-off process where yeast cells break down sugar to produce alcohol, and making beer fizzy.

07. CONDITIONING

Our beers undergo 7 to 28 days of fermentation and lagering before being packaged for the market, ensuring the right flavor and carbonation level.

08. PACKAGING

Belize Brewing Company uses various bottling and canning lines, including Belikin, Lighthouse, and LandShark, to maintain the distinct flavors of their hop varieties.
